OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is the molar mass of a monoprotic acid if 22.30 mL of 0.0841 M NaOH is required to neutralize a 0.174g sample??

OpenStudy (aaronq):

knowing that the ratio of the moles of base to moles of acid is 1:1, find the moles base. Now you know the moles of acid and the mass of acid, find it's molar mass.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the moles of the base is the same as the moles of the acid because of the 1:1??

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yeah, because 1 mole NaOH makes 1 mole of OH-, and the monoprotic acid makes 1 mole of \(H_3O^+\) per mole.
