Help with this lewis diagram

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Where do lone pairs need to go? @abb0t can you take a quick look?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

On the nitrogen in the nitrile group.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Would this be right? Sorry it is hard to see.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Around the nitrogen and chlorine?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I would draw the electrons where they don't touch the nitrogen, so for instance \(\sf \color{red}{H-N:}\) and \(\sf \color{red}{C-N:}\)

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I don't think you need to draw them on Chlorine, btw.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Thanks, I will try. Duh, I knew that about chlorine.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

I can't change the dots appear around the H and N. The computer does that itself. I must have missed something.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

*the way they appear

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I don't know what that system does, but you need to play around with it.

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

As long as it is correct. Thanks!

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

Sorry to bother you once more, but do any of the carbons need lone pairs?

OpenStudy (amtran_bus):

See, each time I submit and get it wrong it counts off.
