CALC problem A point is moving along the circle x^2 + (y − 1)^2 = 2 in such a way that its x-coordinate is decreasing at a rate of 1 unit per second. What is happening to the y-coordinate at the instant when the point has reached (−1, 2)

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

both x and y ordinates are proportional to t so use implicit differentiation so for x^2:- d(x^2)/ dt = 2x * dx/dt now find d(y-1)^2/dt then do the substitutions mentioned in the your last post

thank you !!
