Solve systems by graphing method. SO like, y=-3x I would start at 1 then move 3 over 1 on the graph? then x=-1 I would just put a line thru -1?

ohh I see, 2 equations... so you graph them both where both of them meet, those coordinates are the "solution" because at that point, "x" and "y" for one equation, will be equals to the "x" and "y" for the other equation

y = -3x let's graph that is a line, so all you need for that is 2 points really, so let's get 2 "x" values x = 0 => y = -3(0) => y = 0 ( 0, 0 ) x = 2 => y = -3(2) => y = -6 ( 2, -6 ) |dw:1382896822533:dw|

so as you can see, x = -1 is just a vertical line where "x" is always -1 so let's use x = -1 for say y = -3x x = -1 => y = -3(-1) => y = 3 |dw:1382897100726:dw|
