OpenStudy (anonymous):

You supposed to use a formula, or calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

formula i guess ... but ive tryed so many and it doesnt work

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so any way you know how works for me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't remember any formula for this. To derive it, I would use \[ \int_0^h 2\pi\left(\frac bh\right)x\; dx=\pi \frac bhx^2\Bigg|_0^h = \pi bh \]In this case \(b=8\) and \(h=\sqrt{14^2-8^2}\) by Pythagorean theorem.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmmm, let me see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

However for some reason that isn't right... Hmmmm

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what im saying everything i try isnt right :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@zepdrix help :(?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm getting 176

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill try it thank you! can you show me how you did it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried \[ \pi(8)(14)+\pi 8^2 \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you
