can someone explain this simple thing to me, I'm a little confused

i now that when you divide by a fraction u flip it to turn it into multiplication. But im a little confused with this one

you cant have a radical in the denominator.

you have the correct answer, the book just didn't want a fraction in a fraction try multiplying what you got by (√3 / √3)

\[\frac{ \sqrt{y} }{ \sqrt{y} + 1 } \times \frac{ \sqrt{y} }{ ? }\] so you multiply the fraction by the radical

OpenStudy (ranga):

Your answer and the book answer are the same but Just a different form. Multiply the top and bottom of your answer by sqrt(y) and you will get the book answer
