A sign that weighs 168 N is supported by ropes a and b and makes a 22.5 degree angle with the horizontal. The sign is unmoving. What force do the ropes exert on the sign? 220 N. --- This is not the question, it's a previous question. The real question is below. --- The sign is raised higher by pulling the two ropes more horizontally. The force on each rope is increased to 575 N and angles are kept equal. What angle does each rope make with the horizontal now? --- --- Answer: 8.4 degrees.
