~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~FAN AND MEDAL~~~~~~~~~~~~ The graph below is represented by which system of inequalities? x − y > 5 and 3x + y > 3 x − y < 5 and 3x + y < 3 x − y < 5 and 3x + y > 3 x − y > 5 and 3x + y < 3
Solve for y to find the functions. Here's the first one written out: |dw:1383524341838:dw| then you can graph to see which ones work The shaded part is to the right, so it's going to be > .
Are you asking me lol?
I think its the first one..... x - y > 5 -y > -x + 5 -->(-1) y < x - 5 y int = -5, slope = 1, less then means shaded below the line 3x + y > 3 y > -3x + 3 y int = 3, slope = -3, greater then means it is shaded above the line you might want to get a second opinion....I am not the best at graphing
It sounds pretty right to me :)
I think so...but like I said, graphing is not one of my better subjects
lol ok let me see if @hero can confirm it
Just simply test a point in the solution region
where is that?
Where it says Equation?
The solution region is the green area. There are points in that region. Test them out.
uh-oh....I think it is the 3rd one because a point in the green section (3,1) 3rd answer choice : x - y < 5 3x + y > 3 3 - 1 < 5 3(3) + 1 > 3 2 < 5 (correct) 9 + 1 > 3 10 > 3 (correct)
option c?
Hero said a set of points in the green section will make the inequality true. The set of points I picked was (3,1). It makes the inequalities in the answer choice C true. I would go with C
Okay thank you!
sorry about the wrong answer in the beginning
Hero helped a lot on this one
Its Perfectly fine lol , I wasnt done with it yet
I am so glad you did not turn it in yet
The graph was made to be tricky though. If you graphed the system in desmos, you'll see how it is supposed to look.
Your teacher is wrong for not properly representing the system
you saved my butt again Hero....thanks
Here's how the actual graph looks. From there, it is clear to see what the overlapping region is. https://www.desmos.com/calculator/dimuhgzpw0
That makes a difference
