this is the question - - > In a certain town, the barometric inches of air pressure, x, on a certain day is described by two statements: If 3 times the air pressure is increased by 2, the pressure is still less than 92 inches. Twice the air pressure minus 39 is greater than 11 inches. I already have Part A, i just need help with part B and C Part A: Part A: Create a compound inequality to represent the air pressure range (My answer: 3x+2<92 and 2x-39>11 Part B: Can the air pressure in this town be 24 inches? Justify your answer by solving the inequalities in Part A. Part C: The average air pressure in another town is 29 inches but the actual pressure is within 4 inches of the average. Write and solve an inequality to find the range of air pressure in this town. @helppls123
okay so i'm thinking for part B you should plug in 24 for x and see if the problem is still true, and I don't really understand part C sorry >_<
You can solve an inequality just like an equation, except if you divide by a negative number you have to flip the sign around for reasons I am bad at explaining. But if you want to write it in terms of x you can just do \[2x - 39 > 11 \\ 2x > 50 \\ x > 25\] Which means 24 is not a good answer.
i don't get this :/ so what do i put for part B and C?

Well, ideally, you'd look at it and understand it instead of just copying what I did so you can solve the next problem yourself. :P Part C is basically like part A I think.
