True! NaCl (good ol' table salt) is very soluble in water, but AgCl is not soluble in water. It can also depend on the solvent. NaCl is not soluble in hexane, because hexane is very nonpolar and NaCl will dissolve into ions. Temperature is also a factor, concentrations of other salts, pH.... it goes on. There are some trends that you can follow, but it does vary greatly.
