What is the ground state electron configuration of Thallium (III)? I am having trouble with the irregular ground states of charged transition metals.

you would lose an electron from 6p orbital and lose two from 6s

the 6s and 6p orbitals are of higher energy than 5d and 5f, additionally they are shielded from the nuclear charge.
