A small airplane loses a bolt while traveling at a speed of 150 meters/second in the horizontal direction. The bolt follows a parabolic path and lands on the ground after 25 seconds. How far will the bolt have traveled horizontally from the point where it left the plane until it lands on the ground?

OpenStudy (rajat97):

in projectile motion, always remember to treat the perpendicular directions independantly i.e. you should treat the verticle direction of motion nd the horizontal motion independantly to make the question easier now if we see the horiz. direction, there is no acceleration in the horizontal direction so we can find the distance by simply using the formula distance=speed x time so here distance=150 x 25 and you'll get your answer
