Why does acetic acid have a greater kc in benzene solution than in water solution.

Something to do with the properties.... I know like dissolve like so benzene being non-polar dissolve acetic acid because its more carbons and oxygens..nonpolar @aaronq

hm i have no idea. I can speculate and say it's due to electrostatics, maybe the \(\pi\) electrons on the rings can stabilize the species in their ionic forms more favourably, but again i don't know. I'd like to know the answer to this as well.

i can speculate e here is that acetic acid present as dimer in the Benzene solution where as it will be present as single molecule in water :)|dw:1384318182957:dw| as u may be knowing the hydrogen bonding acetic acid :) is it something to do with this
