The enthalpy of a system is the same as its: A. specific heat. B. heat of reaction. C. heat of combustion. D. heat content.

We know that the fundamental definition of enthalpy is dH=dU+pdV. This is saying basically that the enthalpy of the system is the change in internal energy PLUS the product of the pressure(volume) term. What does this tell you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um... C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try B. But we engineers often do note the enthalpy as the total heat content of a system, because it includes both internal energy and p(V) term energy.

Oooh I see... thank you Engineer lol.
