OpenStudy (deadshot):

After one hour in flight, an airplane is located 200 miles north and 300 miles west of the airport. What is the plane's velocity?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you give distance in miles per hour it's easy, the number of miles it has travelled in one hour is equivalent to its speed in miles per hour

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the distance travelled think about the line from the airport to the position after an hour in terms of its north and west components, like a right angled triangle. You can use Pythagoras theorem a^2+b^2=c^2
