Describe how protons, neutrons, and electrons each affect the charge and mass of an atom.
ahaha proton has mass ~ 1, neutron is about the same (~1) and electron is ~massless
in terms of size, proton and neutron are massive compared to an electron.
Is that supposed to be the answer?
dnt forget the charge
The mass is in u - atomic mass units = 1.660 x 10^-27 kg Do you remember what the charge is for those, @prowrestler ?
no
the electron is about 10,000 times less massive than the proton, which is why @vinL said ~massless. How about the sign of the charges? electrons = positive or negative or neutral? protons = positive or negative or neutral? neutrons = positive or negative or neutral?
ok ok ok ok ok ok
the charge of the electron is -e, and the charge of the proton is +e e=1.602 x 10^-19 Coulombs How about the charge of the neutron?
is it negative because all of them cant be positive.
electrons are negative - neutrons are neutral, hence the name ^^
"hence the name"
Well it's how I remember it!
and why it was named that
Prow Neutrons - Neutral Protons - Positive Electrons - idk what people use to remember but theres only 1 option left haha
N=Neutral P=Positive E=Negative
yep I got that
i got it
