A space shuttle in outer space moves with speed 10 m/s. To change its reaction, it accelerates with a constant acceleration of 3m/s^2 at an angle of 30 degrees with respect to its initial velocity for3seconds. Fond the space shuttle's direction of motion and the magnitude of its displacement after 3 seconds.

OpenStudy (loser66):

@DemolisionWolf prof, help him, please. I want to know, too.

OpenStudy (agent0smith):

|dw:1384993761647:dw| break acceleration into components... in x direction: 3cos 30. In y direction: 3sin30 Initial velocity is vx = 10m/s, vy = 0m/s after time t, the velocity is vx = 10 + (3cos30)t vy = (3sin30)t

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3m/s^2 for 3 seconds becomes 9m/s in the 30degree direction. we then add the vectors of the velocities to get the direction |dw:1384993907161:dw|

OpenStudy (loser66):

@agent0smith how can we add acceleration with velocity like that?
