OpenStudy (anonymous):

which of these has the most covalent bond character? NH3, IBr, IF, NaF, PbO

OpenStudy (aaronq):

can you eliminate the ones that definitely are not? ie. those with ionic bonds

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think the answer is IBr. I just wanted a second opinion

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it has the lowest electronegativity difference..

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hm thats a good point, at first i thought it was it's NH3, but i'm not sure now lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol. thats exactly what i thought too, so don't feel bad. NH3 has the highest difference

OpenStudy (preetha):

Julie is right. IBr is closest in Electronegativity and therefore most covalent. NH3 is more ionic.
