they are both correct due to the mean value thm which says that for a continuous function there is some point "c" in the interval which has same slope as avg slope of interval \[f'(c) = \frac{f(2) -f(-2)}{2-(-2)}\]

if avg slope is 0 .... then f(2) = f(-2) also only at a turning point (local max) is the slope zero
