opinions on Stephen hawkings origin of the universe?
[Whatever I say ahead is not meant to disrespect someones belief so no hard feelings] If looked from a Religion Point of View. It would make no sense. Well, there are different religions and everyone with their own Concepts, the Stephen Hawking's "Origin of the Universe" doesn't stop me from Believing in God. Atheist think of people with religion as "Stupid" as they don't believe in Supernatural, and it makes them believe there is no such thing as God. [Again, no disrespect] But If I ask them the principle of "cause and effect" (something cannot come from nothing), "every effect must have a cause". Then they would believe it, and also this principle makes them believe there is no God as it would break this rule. And then again, they believe in "Big Bang Theory", how the Universe started, a big explosion of matter and energy, and not a Supernatural Force. If they agree that "something cannot come from nothing", then who or what caused the "Big Bang"? In other words, where did the Original matter and Energy come from that started the "Big Bang"? There would be different answers from an Atheist about this, like... 1) "The Universe is Constant, it's just always been there." My reply would be that If they are right, that means the Universe defies the law of "cause and effect". Doesn't it? Which would make the existence of our Universe Supernatural. Which means we both believe in a Supernatural cause for our Existence! 2) "The Universe Kinda started on it's Own! The Big Bang was how the Universe created itself!" And again, my reply would be. How would the Universe "create itself"? That would also break the Law of "cause and effect". This is the reason they don't believe in God, then should they stop believing in our Universe? 3) "There are 'virtual particles'. Scientists have found particles that might come into existence from literally nothing. So maybe, something can come from nothing!" And i would reply. If they are right, doesn't that make God scientifically possible? 4) "There are 'other dimensions of time' or an 'eternally oscillating Universe'. Stuff like that might explain a Universe without a first cause." I would ask them. Well, can those things be observed scientifically? (No, they can't be so the reply would be "No"). Isn't that your Biggest Complaints from you about God? 5) "Nevermind, I've decided I don't totally agree with the Law of 'cause and effect'." And I would tell them that they can no longer use this law to argue against God! So, my opinion is that Stephen Hawking doesn't know what he is talking about.
