Why does NH3 take H2O's hydrogen if H2O has stronger bonds?

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

how do you know the bond of H+ in H2O is stronger lol

OpenStudy (kc_kennylau):

how do you know the bond of H+ in H2O is stronger than the bond of H in NH4+ lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well it wont directly react with h2o to take hydrogen.... ammonia is a weak base it can be turned to ammonium by protonation.... like single H+ ion or H3O+.... it requires some energy to make a bond between h2o and NH3 to form NH4+
