Describe how protons, neutrons, and electrons each affect the charge and mass of an atom

OpenStudy (aaronq):

protons and neutrons both contribute more to the mass of the atom, the electron's mass is insignificant in comparison. They both have about equal masses. Protons are positively charged while electrons are negatively charged, their charges are of equal magnitude but opposite in sign. Neutrons do not have a charge.
