Can any one please help me to answers this question i don't get it. thank in advance. What is the limiting reactant when 6.8 moles of iron react with 8.9 moles of oxygen gas? Unbalanced equation: Fe + O2 → Fe2O3 Show, or explain, all of your work along with the final answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4Fe + 3 02 -> 2Fe2O3 (balanced equation) \[6.8 mol Fe * (2 Mol Fe2O3/4molFe)= 3.4 molFe203\] \[8.9mol O2 * (2 mol Fe2O3/3 mol O2)= 5.93mol Fe2O3\] Because Iron produces less it is limiting reagent

hope that helps
