Which is strong base
H20 or c6h5nh2
H2O is the chemical form for water, and water is neutral c6h5nh2 is the chemical form of Aniline, and Aniline is Weak Base
how do u know that aniline is weak base
Water can act as both a base or an acid.
okay, so Kb of aniline is 4.38*10^-14 but for water it is 7 so water Kb>alinie Kb
that is why water is stronger base right?
@Zale101
water has a ph of 7, it is neither weak or strong
okay, what about these then--- arrang in most acidic to most basic CaBr2, KNO2, HClO4, HNO2, HONH3ClO4
are you comparing which one is acidic? Water or Aniline?
strong basic
I know HNO2 and HClO4 are strong acids
HClO4>HNO2>......how to do rest
@abb0t plz help this user
A little bit of organic chemistry to consider: Compare ammonia to aniline since you can easily reference the pka of ammonia (not to be confused with the pka of ammonium). The difference here is we've added an aromatic group where a hydrogen should be. What does this aromatic group do? Well, we already know that the lone pair from the nitrogen goes into the resonance structure since that's part of what makes it an ortho-para director. So no doubt this extra resonance causes aniline to lose some of its ability to be a Lewis acid, as those electrons are tied up with being a part of resonance. So it's fair to assume that aniline is less basic than ammonia.
You have to look at pH here they are both bases.
