A particular atom becomes more energetically stable when it loses a single electron. It is most likely an atom of which of the following elements? magnesium (Mg) cesium (Cs) fluorine (F) boron (B)

OpenStudy (nikato):

cesium. becuz it only has one electron on its outer shell. once it looses taht one, it will be happy/stable ebcuz of the octet rule

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This only applies to atoms which have only one outer electron. They exist in column one of the periodic table, yes @nikato is right.
