when hydrochloric acid is dissolved in water it produces

The same solution; hydrochloric acid but with less concentration. And welcome to OpenStudy!

She is right. But, I just want to clarify about what's really going on here because it is easy for some people to think that the HCl just dissociates, which can be missleading. What is happening here is basically: \(\sf \color{red}{HCl+H_2O \rightarrow H_3O^++Cl^-}\) Which is different from HCl in aqueous solution.
