why does sodium has the biggest size among silicon, sulfur and magnesium?

OpenStudy (musicfreak):

Because as you go across a period, the atomic size decreases. As you go down a group, it increases. Sodium is the largest element because it is in group one, whereas all of the other choices are in groups 2, 14, and 16.
