Let's say x is the amount of the 20% acid solution.
So we can use this equation:

.08(12) + .2x = .16(x+12)

then we simplify it:

.96 + .2x = .16x + 1.92
.04x = .96
x=24

Roman should use 24 litters of 20% acid solution
