what do you mean by "You can ignore the THERMAL CONTRACTION of the cylinder" ?? xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is this. Six moles of an ideal gas are in a cylinder fitted at one end with a movable piston. the gas is cooled until the pressure increases to 30% of its original value. you can ignore the thermal contraction of the cylinder.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n=6 moles \[p_{2} = p_{1} (0.3+1)\]

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I think that means to assume volume is constant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the change of volume is zero? \[(V_{2} - V_{1}) = 0\]

@JoannaBlackwelder

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

Right :)

thanks! :D
