Why is the C-C bond in CH3CH3 longer than that of CH3CF3, and the C-O bond in CH3OH longer than that of CH3O+H2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is wrong question

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

C-C bond in CH3CH3 longer than that of CH3CF3 is due to the electronegativity of F bcoz it try to pull bonding electron density towards itself :) as result the bond lenth between C-C will be reduced|dw:1389268236298:dw|
