For this, your answer to the first question is y^2 + 3y + 13x^2 + 1. For the second question, the answer is the first choice ( y= -0.5x + 4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is an explanation required?

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

No @priyanka8 its multipul choice

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

@priyanka8 y= -0.5x +4 isnt an option.....

OpenStudy (nightmarenight):

@priyanka8 can you help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Gather like terms together then combine them.\[y^2+3y+7x+6x+1-2\]\[y^2+3y+13x-1\]For the second one, it is in the form y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. y-intercepts are where x=0 and you are given such a point (0,4) so b=4. For the slope, use the two points to find the change in y divided by the change in x.\[m=\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x}=\frac{0-4}{8-0}=-\frac{4}{8}=-\frac{1}{2}\]Substitute these values in to y=mx+b to get\[y=-\frac{1}{2}x+4\]

@bagajr help??? :))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@NightmareNight Yes it is an option, it's the first one, sorry I was too lazy to type the entire thing out aha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{8}{x-7}=\frac{7}{2}\]Multiply both sides by (x-7).\[8=\frac{7}{2}(x-7)\]Divide both sides by 7/2, which is the same as multiplying by its reciprocal, 2/7.\[8*\frac{2}{7}=x-7\]\[\frac{16}{7}+7=x\]\[\frac{16}{7}+\frac{49}{7}=x\]\[\frac{65}{7}=x\]\[9\frac{2}{7}=x\]For the second one, just divide by 2.\[-2<t \le1\]So it's the third choice.
