Assume that you pay $2,849.84 in state property taxes every year. If your property has an assessed value of $41,302, what is your state’s property tax rate? a. 0.077 b. 0.032 c. 0.014 d. 0.069

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2849.84= tax%*41302

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

it would be 0.069

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

multiply 41302 by 0.069 and u get 2849.838 which round up to $2849.84 any questions

OpenStudy (mathmale):

"tax rate" indicates how much tax per $1000 of value of the house. JoJo found the decimal value of the fraction 2849.84 / 41302 and therefore has the correct decimal fraction indicating the tax rate.

OpenStudy (jojo4eva):

@mathmale i didnt think to juss divide the 2 lol

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Right. Any "rate" consists of one quantity divided by another. I'm more used to "tax rate" because a tax rate applies to my property and I have to pay taxes on it every year!!
