a 10 hr trip is made at an average speed 40 m/s . if during first half of distance average speed of the bus was 30 m/s , what is the average speed for 2nd half??

Here we have equal distances. In such a case the average speed is given by harmonic mean of the speeds in the 2 halves. 40=(2*30*v)/(v+30) Solve for v.
