OpenStudy (wolfe8):

What is tin? Anion or cation?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Here's a way to see it. Separate nickel sulfite into its component ions.

Ni4(SO3)3+Sn->Sn(SO3)2+Ni Reason why- This is a single replacement chemical reaction- which means either the nonmetals switch places or the metals switch places. The charges of these; Sn is +4 and SO3 has a -2 charge, and Ni has +3 charge. You just have to determine if the ones alone are diatomic. My teacher taught me "Have No Fear Of Ice Cold Beer" Hydrogen Nitrogen Fluorine Oxygen Iodine Chlorine Bromine

I recommend you use the document I attached- I think its very helpful
