6. Using the pH scale, what numbers indicate an acid? What numbers indicate a base? If one acid has a pH of 2 and another has a pH of 4, which is a stronger acid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A substance with a pH of 2 is more acidic than a substance with a pH of 4. Any measurement below 7 on the pH scale is acidic.

@tallymark124 Here's how I memorized it: A comes before B, so: Acids<-------------------------7(Neutral) ------------------------------> Bases

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a) pH = 4 means the hydrogen ion concentration is 10-4 ( 10 to the power of -4) b) pH = 2 means the hydrogen ion concentration is 10-2 ( 10 to the power of -2) so which has higher hydrogen ion concentration a ( which is 0.0001) or b ( which is 0.01)
