can somebody help with completing some equations please? first one is KOH + H2CO3 ----> ? and it must be balanced

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Welcome to OpenStudy. Can you list me the ions of those reactants first?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the ions ?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

I'm asking you so I can show you how to form compounds next time. Here, they are K+, OH-, H+, and (CO3)2- Now, switch the pairing of those ions to form the products.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

K(CO3)2+H2O is this right ?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Close, but see how K has a charge of 1+ and CO3 has 2-. What you did has a net charge of 1+ (-2)2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry I am very bad at chemistry!!!

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

It's fine, but here, this should help you form compounds: http://www.occc.edu/kmbailey/chem1115tutorials/formulas_ionic.htm
