5 differences between ionic and covelent bonding
@Potatoes.ramu , @anitasonia98 , @anitasonia98 , @parisgirl1515 pls help
In ionic bonds the atoms are bound together by the attraction of oppositely charged ions. In covalent bonds, the atoms are bound by shared electrons. In ionic bonds the electrons are totally transferred from one of the bonding atoms to the other. In covalent bonds, the ions are shared equally. Ionic bonds can be dissolved in water and other polar solvents. Covalent bonds can be dissolved in organic solvents. Ionic bonds are very good conductors of electricity. Covalent bonds on the other hand, are not. Ionic bonds lead to the formation of crystalline solids with a high melting temperature. Covalent bonds have a comparatively lower melting temperature.
There are your five differences. :) @hari5719
