If 8.65 grams of iron (III) oxide reacts with 7.85 grams of carbon monoxide to prduce 5.35 g of pure iron fine the theoretical yield and percent yield unbalanced equation: Fe2O3+Co->FeCO2

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

First, balance the equation please. Then, find the number of mole of whatever info you have.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, but I don't really know how to do that

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

The way the reaction is written it is impossible to balance. That is because the reaction is not written properly. The problem says that pure Fe is produced, so it should read Fe2O3 + CO -> Fe + CO2. Let me know if that works out better for you or if you have any other questions.
