describe the phase change dry ice goes through

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Changes in its state? Dry ice boils to a gas when exposed to higher temperatures--including room temperature. Liquid state -> gaseous state.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Boils + evaporates, rather

OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):

I think it is solid -> gas which is sublimation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, solid directly to gas is indeed sublimation.

OpenStudy (roadjester):

Dry ice is carbon dioxide (CO2) in solid state. @joannablackwelder is correct that it is sublimation.
