I think that it's supposed to be c^2-b^2=a^2. 2.1*2.1=4.41 2.9*2.9=8.41 8.41-4.41=4. Can anybody tell me if I did this correctly or not.

I did the sq. rt. of 4, which was 2. You know that the answer cannot be 4 because a cannot be longer then c.

So I am pretty sure that the answer is 2. That is my final answer.

It's no problem. Just remember the formula for the Pythagorean Theorem. a^2+b^2=c^2, you just have to change this formula accordingly like I did with problem number 2.
