First write out what the compounds are. You can look those up.
Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. Any search engine will do if you don't want to use your notes.
Now identify the ions in them.
Try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6VdsehOE8w You might want to skip some parts. I have to go. Good luck.
the metals will form anions ie Ag+, K+
and then recombine with the cations in the opposite way AgNO3 + KC1 => Ag^+ + NO3^- + K^+ + Cl^- => AgCl + KNO3, one of these products will be soluble , the other will be insoluble
to determine which of these is insoluble, check you solubility rules
look pretty good, you might want to say that the equation is stoichiometrically balanced, ie 1 mole of each reactant goes to form 1 mole of each product
well the discussion would mention that the numbers of each atom is the same on each side of the equation, [stoichiometry]
For this one start with a chemical equation, determine the products and then determine the ratios, next work out how many moles of the product is formed , and how many moles of reactant were used,
Well the reactants are in the first sentence
and one of the product are in the second sentence. You'll have to work out what the other product is from the leftovers
[reactant1] + [reactant2] => [product1] + [product2]
(hmm where did you get that from) now, what is the molar masses of all those chemicals
find? just work them out M_(Al2 (SO4 )3) = 2M_(Al)+3(M_(S)+4M_(O)) =
you know how to use a periodic table to determine the molar mass of Al right?
right, so What is the molar mass of Al2 (SO4 )3)
so you have the molar mass of Al is 27, the molar mass of S is 32 & the molar mass of O is 16 so the molar mass of Al2 (SO4 )3 is simply 2*(27)+3*(32+4*16) =
goood
so work out the molar mass of the other chemicals, and then (using the masses) you will be able to see how many mole of each are in the reaction
we have just found the molar mass of Al2(SO4 )3 is 342 [g/mol] now find the molar mass of Ca(OH)2
yeah , go on
(you can use 40 instead of 40.08 its not going to make a significant difference here)
the calcium hydroxide molecule has one calcium atom and TWO hydroxides 40 + (16+1)*2
yep,
to work out how many mole you have divide the mass of each chemical by the molar mass
how many moles of those reactants did you find?
