Medal for best answer that isn't copied and pasted from Yahoo answers! If a typical antacid tablet contains 2.0 g of sodium hydrogen carbonate, how many moles of carbon dioxide should one tablet yield?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a specific formula I can use to do this?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yep, it's moles=mass/molar mass you have to compare the formulas though. 1 molecule of CO2 has one C atom, 1 molecule of NaHCO3 has 1 carbon atom, so, moles of NaHCO3=moles of CO2 so it's the same thing

Thank you!
