"A chemical reaction occurs between iron (Fe) and chlorine gas (Cl2). A scientist spills chemicals on his notes, erasing what product formed from the reaction. The notes over the reactants can be seen and read: 2Fe + 3Cl2 → What would you predict the molar mass, in grams per mole, of the products to be? " A. 91 g/mol B. 147 g/mol C. 162 g/mol D. 238 g/mol

@petiteme not understanding this one either

OpenStudy (petiteme):

@wolfe8

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

You just have to rewrite the equation again yourself. Combine Fe2+ with Cl- to be the product.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i then get an answer pf B? os that correct?

OpenStudy (wolfe8):

Ah I see. The Fe is Fe3+. If you tried the equation with Fe2+ you would have noticed it didn't work. Give it another try.
