how to convert ethanol to oxalic acid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ethanol is converted to ethene in the presence of sulphuric acid at 443K. then treat ethene with 1% cold alkaline potassium permanganate solution to get glycol(ethane-1,2-diol) now treat glycol with any strong oxidising agent like chromium trioxide or any other one to get oxalic acid

can i have the chemical equation for the reaction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just give me 5 min

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay thank you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C2H5OH + H2SO4(CONCENTRATED) --->CH2=CH2 (AT 443 K) CH2=CH2 + KMnO4(1% AQUEOUS AND ALKALINE SOLUTION)--->CH2OHCH2OH(GLYCOL) GLYCOL + CrO3 ---->COOH-COOH(OXALIC ACID)
