A gold ring has a mass of 18 g. How many gold atoms are in this ring?

thomaster (thomaster):

Use the conversion diagram I attached. You go from mass to mol to number of particles.

thomaster (thomaster):

So you divide 18g by the molar mass of gold, and then multiply it by \(\sf 6.022*10^{23}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Avogadro’s number * (Grams / molar mass) 6.022E23 atoms/mol * (18 grams/196.97grams mol^-1) 5.5E22
