help plz! The equivalent capacitance of two capacitors in series is 0.03uf and when connected in parallel 0.16uf. if the capacitor with the smaller capacitance is replaced with a capacitor whose capacitance is double as much as the smaller capacitance. What will be the new equivalent series capacitance of the combination?

OpenStudy (radar):

solve algebraically.: using these two equations: x + y = .16 and (x*y)/(x+y)=.03. when solved you find the two capacitor values or .12 and .04 microfarads. Now double the smaller, becoming .08 microfarads and connect in series. What is the capacitance of series connected .08 and .12 microfarad?
