OpenStudy (drewkatski):

Two elements X and Y form ionic compounds, XBr2 and Y2O3. The compounds are separately melted and electricity is passed through the liquids. What are the products at the cathodes?

OpenStudy (aaronq):

at the cathodes you're going to get the deposition of the metals in the compounds. the first is a 2+ cation (because 2 \(Br^-\)), the second is 3+. you can't really know their identity without some other information.

OpenStudy (drewkatski):

Thanks for the answer I had forgotten to put the choices - (multiple choice) Br and X Br and Y O and X O and Y X and Y
