Describe how gaseous molecules are able to create a force of pressure. please help me understand!

OpenStudy (aaronq):

molecules of gas travel about in random directions, these collide against everything the encounter, including the boundaries of the container. For example, pretend this is a balloon, the individual molecules are hitting the wall with a certain force, F=ma, which is related to how fast the molecules are moving and their mass. The pressure then felt around a given area can be expressed as \(Pressure=\dfrac{Force}{Area}\). |dw:1392841995631:dw|
