someone please help me solve this: A rigid tank contains 0.40 mol of oxygen(O2). Determine the mass of oxygen that must be withdrawn from the tank to lower the pressure of the gas from 40atm to 20atm. Assume that the volume of the tank and the temperature of the oxygen are constant during this operation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Use equation P1V=n1RT and final pressure P2V=n2RT by dividing you will get (P1/P2)=(n1/n2) now you have the the values of P1,P2 and n1 by using this you will get n2 . Now you have to calculate withdrawn amount of gas which will be n1-n2 mole. Now i hope you know relation between mole and mass of gas(if not then work on it, or tell me) so you can find the withdrawn mass.

ok ok ok i get it hehe thank u

you are most welcome.
