The surface tension of water is considerable--you can't say it's greater than all other liquids but it would definitely be higher than most other liquids. The reason being the formation of hydrogen bonds between water molecules. And a water molecule is bent. I can show you why if you'd like. I answered the third question in my first explanation. =)

I know that ice is less dense because the volume of ice is greater than that of water for equal number of molecules--there is more H-bonding in water than in ice. Not sure which answer that best corresponds to. Sooorry.
